A little bit about me.
Hi, my name is Saundria Zomalt and I’m so glad you’re here.
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, I am a Cali girl through and through! After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Counseling at Loyola Marymount University. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and have worked in both clinical and school settings. After working in one of the largest mental health agencies in Southern California serving adolescents in foster care, juvenile justice systems, and adults, I decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Atlanta. I am currently a school counselor at a local private school. I have over fifteen years of experience counseling children, adolescents and adults.
Whether you have a school aged child who is struggling with performance pressures or parental relationships, a college student or quarter-lifer who is managing high stress levels and struggling to figure out what is next, a corporate professional dealing with burn out, or a couple trying work through the challenges of marriage. I’m here to support you in removing emotional barriers so you can thrive!
I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, life adjustment/transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, self-esteem, perfectionism and mild to moderate trauma. I’m very passionate about supporting clients where they are. Many clients have said I remind them of an aunt or a best friend who they can fully be themselves with, and that is the greatest compliment I can receive as a counselor.
I enjoy taking a collaborative and client-centered approach, and believe each client has the strength and resolve to create the meaningful change they hope to see in their lives. I know that seeking help is not easy and I have stood in your shoes. I’ve had to work through my own challenges and baggage in order to claim the life and relationships I deserve. My favorite motto is “do it afraid!” I help my clients learn to identify and challenge their thinking and behavior patterns so they can develop more meaningful lives. I am committed to helping my clients achieve their therapeutic goals, while providing a safe, judgment-free space where they feel supported and comfortable to express themselves. I am a culturally competent therapist who is sensitive to minority, diversity, inclusion and cultural issues.
I have also been trained to incorporate spirituality and/or faith of any kind into the counseling relationship and goals, but will only do so with the expressed interest of individual clients and/or their families.
When I’m not working, I’m balancing life as a mom to a toddler and jumping on a plane to a new destination around the world. I have lived in Costa Rica and Barbados and have visited over 20 countries and counting. I also love spending time with family and my seven nieces and nephews who affectionately call me “mom-tie.”
